The purpose of the call is to finance the best collective projects of researches and developments aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian society, the development of human and scientific potential of Ukraine.
The call selection is carried out in accordance with the Procedure for call selection and financing by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine of projects for the implementation of research and development, approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 27, 2019 № 1170.
Thematic areas of the competition – a competition of collective projects in basic and applied research and development in areas of research aimed at solving important problems of scientific and technical, socio-economic, socio-political, human and scientific potential to ensure Ukraine’s competitiveness in the world and its sustainable development in the context of global and regional challenges.
The submitted projects must correspond to the thematic areas of the call, have a clear innovative character, theoretical and methodological validity, rely on the latest achievements in relevant fields of science, be realistic, have reasonable prerequisites (in personnel, logistical and time dimensions), meet avoidance of double funding (if necessary, co-financing of the project should be clearly stated and justified).
The advantage of the project will be the documented prospect of viability of scientific development after the completion of project funding by the NRFU’s. Evidence of the viability of the development (planned project outcome) can be memorandums or letters of guarantee from stakeholders on the intentions to apply the research and / or provide financial, organizational or institutional support for the operation of the research (eg databases, website, etc.).
Duration of projects to be selected based on the results of the call:
Types of projects by deadlines:
1) projects with a deadline of 2022-2024 (4 intermediate stages)
2) projects with a deadline of 2022-2025 (6 intermediate stages)
(The start of project implementation is planned from June 2022; the implementation of projects in 2023, 2024 and 2025 will be carried out taking into account and in accordance with the budget revenues in the year).
The intermediate stage of project implementation may not exceed 6 months.
*Planning of the duration of intermediate stages of project implementation for 2023, 2024 and 2025 should be carried out taking into account the deadlines for processing the reporting documentation provided by the grant recipient to confirm the implementation of the relevant intermediate stage of project implementation (14 calendar days from the end of each intermediate stage of project implementation). The duration of the intermediate stages of the project implementation for 2023, 2024 and 2025 planned in the application can be adjusted at the time of concluding the contract for research and development through grant support, taking into account and in accordance with budget revenues in the year.
Total volume and basic information on the procedure for financing research and development (projects) to be selected based on the results of the call
The total amount of funding for the competition in 2022 is up to 78 392.5 thousands UAH (in accordance with budget revenues in the year).
The maximum amount of funding for one project in 2022 (1 intermediate stage) is UAH 1.6 million.
The maximum amount of funding for one project in 2023 (2 intermediate stages) is UAH 3.4 million, in 2024 it is UAH 3.6 million for 2 intermediate stages or UAH 1.8 million for 1 intermediate stage, in 2025 ( 1 intermediate stage) – UAH 1.9 million.
The maximum amount of project funding with a term of 4 intermediate stages: 2022-2024 is UAH 6.8 million, a project with a term of 6 intermediate stages: 2022-2025 – UAH 10.5 million.
The planned total funding of the call is from UAH 333.1 million to UAH 514.4 million.
