Call guidelines
Competitive selection of projects is held in accordance with the Procedure for competitive selection and financing by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine of projects for research and development, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 27, 2019 № 1170.
The selection of projects is held in accordance with the criteria defined in the Science Council’s Procedure for consideration and examination of research and development projects submitted to the National Research Foundation of Ukraine for participation in competitive selections.
It is recommended to read the terms of the call before forming an application for calls.
The call terms contain information about:
– general information about the call (the call title; purpose of the call; subject of the call);
– deadlines and procedure for financing the winning projects (types of projects by deadlines; total financing; maximum project financing);
– requirements for call participants;
– time and place of the call;
– project selection and evaluation criteria;
– a list of documents and an application submitted by the participant (including the rejection of the application on formal reason);
– submission of documents for participation in the call and withdrawal of the application by the participant of call;
– deadlines for submitting and considering of applications, conducting scientific and scientific-technical examination of projects and summing up the results of the call;
– contact information.
Legal entities of any ownership form can participate in the call.
One person can be a supervisor in only one application submitted to this call. The research group may consist of scientists representing one institution (organization), as well as scientists working in different institutions (organizations).
An application for participation in the call of projects is submitted by the scientific supervisor of the project by filling in the application form specified in the conditions of the call on the official website of the Foundation (http://nrfu.org.ua//).
The supervisor and project executors must pass the pre-registration procedure in the automated system “The NRFU Project call” to submit an application (https://grants.nrfu.org.ua). Registration is complete after filling in all the fields in profile.

The applicant is identified during registration via e-mail or qualified electronic signature (the QES).
The supervisor may involve to the project only scientists who have completed the registration and have given their consent to participate in the project.
It is possible to send an application for participation in the call only after filling in and signing the application by the project adviser using the QES.

The participant of the call has the right to withdraw the application at the end of deadline submission. For this purpose the project supervisor addresses the system administrators via e-mail support@nrfu.org.ua.
Inconsistency of the documents with the requirements of list and/or registration submitted by the participant, determined by the call rules, is the basis for rejection of the application on a formal reason.
The project supervisor is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in the application and the documents attached to it. The consequence of providing inaccurate information is the withdrawal of the project from the call.

All changes in the application for the call are made before the submission period ends.
Only applications submitted to the call within the period specified in the announcement can be registered.
Within 30 days after the decision to grant, the participant must enter into a contract that defines the conditions for the implementation of the project.
Based on the results of the work at each stage, the Grantee sends to the Foundation an information report on the implementation of research and development through grant support and a report on the use of funds, which are considered and approved by the Scientific Council of the Foundation.
At each stage, the grantee reports to the Foundation an information on the implementation of research and development supported through grant and on using of funds, considered and approved by the Scientific Council of the Foundation.
Grants can only finance the costs in accordance with the call terms.
Grantee are required to indicate in publications and presentations the following:
– publications and presentations were prepared as a result of the project, which was financed by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine using the state budget;
– indicate the project number and its titles.
