Recommendations of the Scientific Council
The Scientific Council of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine draws the attention of grantees to the fact that under the guise of declarations of support for Open Science policies, the practice of publishing in pseudo-scientific publications has recently become widespread in Ukraine, in particular in the form of publications of abstracts allegedly made remotely at so-called “international conferences in absentia” that are allegedly held in different cities around the world.
We emphasize that such events and publications only imitate real scientific forums and publications and are a profanation of platforms for substantive professional scientific discussion. Accordingly, the Scientific Council of the Foundation considers publications in such periodicals to discredit the authors themselves, their research institutions, science in general, as well as our Foundation, under whose banner they are carried out. Therefore, the Scientific Council of the Foundation considers such publications to be a violation of the relevant clause of the Grant Agreement which obliges the grantee to adhere to the principles of academic integrity and scholarly ethics.
