Prof. Stanislav Vilchynskii Head of the Foundation

The Scientific Council of the Foundation is headed by the head of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, who is elected by the Scientific Council of the Foundation. The scientific councils of the sections of the Foundation elect at their meetings the chairmen of the scientific councils of the sections, which are the deputy heads of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine for office. The chairman of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and his deputies are responsible for conducting the call for the selection of experts who are members of expert commissions.

The Head of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine:

• organizes the work of the Foundation in accordance with the Regulation on the National Research Foundation of Ukraine;
• heads the Scientific Council of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine;
• represents the National Research Foundation of Ukraine in the National Council of Ukraine for the Development of Science and Technology, state authorities, local municipality bodies, institutions, organizations, enterprises, as well as in international relations;
• coordinates the work of the sections of the Foundation ;
• determines the functional responsibilities of the Foundation’s employees;
• concludes contracts on the results of calls;
• reports to the National Council of Ukraine on Science and Technology Development on the activities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine;
• issues orders in accordance with its competence;
• is responsible for the activities of the Foundation in accordance with the law.

The chairman of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine is appointed for a term of three years and may serve for no more than two terms.

On February 23, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the decision to appoint Stanislav Vilchynskii, Head of the Quantum Field Theory chair of Phyiscs faculty of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University as the head of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine from March 7, 2022 for a term of three years.
