Cambridge Open Equity Initiative = Removing Barriers to Open Access Publishing

The Cambridge Open Equity Initiative is a new pilot designed to support authors in low- and middle-income countries who wish to publish their research open access in Cambridge journals but do not have access to funding.

This pilot approach is delivered through collective funding, bringing together financial support from Cambridge and its institutional partners.

The Cambridge Open Equity Initiative covers over 5,000 institutions around the world, with over 100 countries eligible for fully funded open access publishing in all gold and hybrid journals, at no direct cost to authors or their institutions. And Ukraine is among the countries included in the initiative. The full list of eligible countries is available here.

Information for eligible authors

The pilot is open to authors from July 1st 2023 until December 31st 2024. No application is required and authors are automatically recognised as eligible for open access publishing once their paper has been accepted. Eligibility is determined by the Corresponding authors affiliation.

For more information on the possibility of publishing, please follow the link: https://www.cambridge.org/core/open-research/open-access/cambridge-open-equity-initiative/faqs
