Horizon Europe Program opportunities for healthcare researchers and innovators: information day held at the Ministry of Health

On March 6, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, held an Information Day for Scientists, Researchers and Innovators in the Healthcare Field. The participants learned about the grant support provided by the NRFU, as well as about the opportunities of the EU Horizon Europe Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, higher education institutions, programme committees responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Horizon Europe Programme, NGOs, scientific institutions, as well as other stakeholders – potential participants in international competitions and programmes for researchers and innovators in the field of healthcare.

Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, spoke about national grant opportunities for researchers, scientists and innovators from the NRFU, which contribute to the development of the country’s scientific capacity and integration into the European Research Area. She also informed about joint projects and initiatives implemented with international support.

Ihor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, spoke about the purpose of the Programme and the benefits and opportunities that are available to its participants. The Head of the Office compared the Horizon Europe with the previous Horizon 2020, the number of participants and success indicators. In addition, he spoke about the work of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, its purpose and provided work.

The Office’s experts covered in detail some issues related to the Horizon Europe Programme. Olena Livinska presented in detail the current calls under the Health cluster of the Pillar II Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness. Tayisiya Symochko informed the audience about the practical aspects of participation in the Horizon Europe Programme.
