SCIENCE DAY IN UKRAINE: “INTEGRATION OF UKRAINE INTO THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH AREA”

On May 16, 2025, on the occasion of the Science Day in Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine will hold an information event “Integration of Ukraine into the European Research Area”.

The event aims to introduce Ukrainian researchers and innovators to the wide range of opportunities that are open up to them within the European and global research areas. The focus will be on the promotion of research and innovation, stressing the importance of synergies between European research support programs, and introducing the role of the Joint Research Center (JRC) as a key element in the implementation of the strategic objectives of the EU Framework Program «Horizon Europe». Special attention will be given to the success stories of Ukrainian researchers supported by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the Horizon Europe Programme, as examples of effective international scientific cooperation.

Languages of the event: Ukrainian, English.

The event starts at 11:00 (Kyiv time).

Preliminary agenda of the event:

10:15-10:50 – registration of participants and guests.

11:00-11:40 – welcoming speeches by representatives of the European Commission, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Delegation of the EU to Ukraine and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.

11:40-12:10 – session “The role of the JRC in achieving the overall objective of the Horizon Europe Program”.

12:10-13:55 – session “Integration of Ukraine into the European and Global Research Areas and synergy of European programs”.

13:55-14:00 – summarizing and closing remarks.
