The Digital Theme UK-Ukraine Research Twinning Conference

Today, on March 29, the representatives of the NRFU took part in the conference «The Digital Theme UK-Ukraine Research Twinning Conference». The event was organized by UK team of #ScienceForUkraine and The University of Liverpool with the support of EPSRC’s Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF).

UA-DIGITAL 2023 is a UK-Ukraine twinning event which aims to promote research collaboration with Ukraine along the Digital Theme (Mathematics, Computer Science, Computational Engineering, Digital Technologies). The main objective of the conference is to help Ukrainian academics at Universities and Research institutes to integrate into the international research network and to find new research contacts.

In the long term, the high-quality research across the Digital Theme should drive the development of the Digital Infrastructure, Digital Economy and IT sector in Ukraine and support the recent OECD Policy Response “Digitalisation for recovery in Ukraine”

Executive Director of the NRFU Olga Polotska said about the Foundation’s activities, the best projects related to the Digital Theme which were implemented with the Foundation’s grant support, and the challenges facing the Ukrainian research community today.

To stimulate communication between participants, the event program included several formats:

  • reports of leading world and Ukrainian researchers, representatives of educational, research, fundinginstitutions, organizations, etc. on the ZOOM platform;
  • virtual poster sessions on the Gather.town platform;
  • a separate communication platform Slack.
