UK is making available £10m in grant funding for innovative green energy ideas that can support Ukraine’s resilience, recovery and reconstruction.
This vital seed-funding will help innovators take their ideas to the next stage of development and market readiness.
At the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London last week, the UK opened the InnovateUkraine Green Energy Challenge Fund. Businesses, research organisations, charities and NGOs from Ukraine and other countries can now apply for funding for projects worth between £50,000 and £2m. Applications will close in September, and projects should run from March 2024 to March 2026 at the latest.
Applications should be:
– Focused on the specific needs of Ukraine’s energy recovery;
– Use innovative technology, idea and/or business model that is low-carbon, affordable and secure;
– Able to deliver energy resilience to Ukrainian communities that suffer from energy shortages.
