A meeting between representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU) and the Research Foundation of Flanders (FWO) was held on 27 March 2025

This meeting was another step in deepening cooperation between the institutions that already cooperate within the framework of Science Europe membership. The agenda included further development of the partnership and consideration of new opportunities to support research projects of Ukrainian researchers. Representatives of the NRFU presented key international initiatives already being implemented by the Foundation and stressed the importance of integrating Ukrainian researchers into the global research community.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached important agreements, one of which is the involvement of international reviewers in the process of assessing projects submitted to the NRFU calls. This will significantly increase the level of peer review which, in turn, will contribute to improving the quality of Ukrainian research and its success in the international arena.

In addition, the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) has expressed its readiness to provide the NRFU with information on support programmes for Ukrainian researchers. We urge you to follow the updates on the official website and social media of the NRFU in order not to miss new opportunities to participate in international research initiatives and support programmes.
