High delegation from Poland and the USA visited the NRFU today

Today, a high-level delegation of representatives of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of the United States visited the National Research Foundation of Ukraine:

  • Jerzy Duszynski – former PAS President, special advisor on Ukraine to PAS President;
  • Anna Plater-Zyberk – Head of PAS International Office;
  • Mateusz Bialas – Director of PAS Representative Office in Kyiv;
  • Vaughan Turekian – Executive Director, Policy and Global Affairs, U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine;
  • Cathy Campbell – Visiting Scholar in the Center for Science Diplomacy;
  • Franklin Carrero-Martinez – Senior Director, Global Sustainability and Development, Policy and Global Affairs Division, The National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

The meeting was also attended by Serhiy Kolotilov and Oleksiy Soldatkin, heads of sections of the NRFU Scientific Council.

The purpose of the visit of the honored guests was to discuss the recovery and development of the science and research sector in Ukraine with representatives of Ukrainian government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Our foreign colleagues shared information regarding the initiatives of support for Ukrainian researchers which were already launched and those are planned to be implemented. The representatives of the NRFU told about the current challenges facing the Ukrainian research community today. The parties discussed the possibilities of establishing and developing cooperation between the institutions and agreed on further joint work. The colleagues expressed their unconditional readiness to provide broad assistance to the modernization of Ukrainian science and its integration into the global research area.
