NRFU held negotiations on future cooperation with research and educational organizations in France

On October 9, an online meeting of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine was held with Alix de Gassart, Attache for University and Scientific Cooperation of French Embassy in Ukraine, Dr. Serhii Barsuk, Director of the Associated International Laboratory LIA IDEATE, and Dr. Maksym Tytov, Deputy Director of the LIA IDEATE Laboratory, Representative of the French Atomic Energy Commissariat. The theme of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation of NRFU with the research and educational organizations of France.

During the meeting, Leonid Yatsenko, the head of the NRFU, and Olga Polotska, the executive director, talked about NRFU, emphasizing the priority of international cooperation and support for young scientists. Dr. Serhiy Barsuk and Dr. Maksym Titov spoke in detail about the work of the international laboratory in the field of fundamental physics and high energy physics “Development of detector systems for accelerator experiments and technologies for accelerator physics” (LIA IDEATE). Alix de Gassart, Attache for University and Scientific Cooperation of French Embassy in Ukraine, shared her ideas on cooperation between the NRFU and the Embassy of France in Ukraine.

The results of the negotiations were preliminary agreements on:

–         Opportunity for NRFU to participate in the work of the Associated International Laboratory LIA IDEATE.

–         Assistance in scientific and educational events organized by the Embassy of France in Ukraine.

–         Involvement of scientists in joint Ukrainian-French research projects.

–         Popularization of science among schoolchildren and students.

Alix de Gassart emphasized the importance of cooperation between our countries in the field of research and innovation for scientific development and strengthening scientific capacity that helps to meet all national and global challenges.
