Olga Polotska chaired a session at the 12th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC)

On May 30, 2024, the 12th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC) held sessions and discussions on sustainable research. This topic was chosen in view of the crucial need to integrate sustainable development into research practice and policy.

Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the NRFU, chaired the session ‘Making Sustainability Science Matter’, which focused on practices and processes for establishing links with stakeholders outside the research community.

The session demonstrated how building a dialogue between researchers and civil society enables the implementation of effective sustainability policies, as well as how this connection is essential to the research process itself.

Participants of the session focused on building trust and dialogue through effective communication, as well as raising awareness of equitable access to knowledge. The session concluded with a panel discussion during which representatives of different types of stakeholders presented their views on the issues.
