Тhe Board of International Counselors of the NRFU

The National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU) has established the Board of International Counselors of the NRFU as a permanent advisory body of the NRFU.

The purpose of the Board is to promote international cooperation of the NRFU to ensure the implementation of its main tasks.

The activities of the Board are aimed at:

– promoting establishment of contacts between the NRFU and foreign organizations, institutions, international organizations, including those that fund research;

– development of scientific contacts and dissemination of information about scientific research in Ukraine and abroad;

– analysis of experience of foreign and international organizations and foundations that finance research in order to implement the best world practices in the activities of the NRFU;

– assistance in attracting foreign scientists as experts for conducting scientific and scientific-technical reviewing of projects submitted to NRFU calls for proposals.

The Board included leading international scholars:

  • Georgi Dwali, Professor of Physics, Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics, New York University and Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich; director of the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich;
  • Maryna Vyazovska, mathematician, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, doctor of natural sciences, professor of the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne, Switzerland;
  • Alexey Boyarsky, Professor of Physics, Leiden University, The Netherlands;
  • Alexei Verkhratsky, Professor of Neurophysiology, University of Manchester, UK.
