The composition of the Scientific Council of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine has been renewed

On April 29, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued Order No. 404-р which approved changes to the composition of the Scientific Council of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU).

The Scientific Council of the NRFU is a key collegial governing body of the Foundation that shapes the policy of grant funding for science in Ukraine. It is composed of leading Ukrainian researchers with significant scientific achievements, impeccable research reputation and trust in the research community, who serve as members of the Scientific Council of the Foundation exclusively on a voluntary basis. The Scientific Council develops the general strategy of the NRFU, proposals for the list of areas for grant support from the NRFU, and makes decisions on launching and holding calls, approving their results, selecting projects for funding, and setting priorities for scientific support.

The Scientific Council was renewed in accordance with the results of the competitive selection conducted by the Identification Committee in 2024 which were approved in accordance with the decision of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development adopted at the meeting on March 19, 2025.

This Order of the Government of Ukraine ensured the continuation of the Foundation’s activities to fulfill its main tasks, which is grant support for fundamental research, as well as applied research and scientific and technical (experimental) developments in the priority areas of science and technology development and is an important prerequisite for the effective management of public funding of research in Ukraine.
