The Executive Director of the NRFU took part in the live telethon “Unbreakable Country” on the Channel 5

The Horizon Europe Office will expand opportunities for Ukrainian researchers to receive grant support for research and innovation projects, facilitate participation in the preparation of competitive applications and the search for appropriate partners, and increase the level of international cooperation and integration into the European research area, said Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, during the “Unbreakable Country” marathon on the Channel 5.

In February, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced support for Ukrainian researchers during a briefing at a joint meeting of the Government of Ukraine and the Board of the European Commission. In particular, the EU will help establish and finance the work of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine until the end of 2027. Procedures are currently underway to amend the legal acts that will regulate the activities of the Office on the basis of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and to prepare for the signing of the Grant  Agreement. The Office is scheduled to start working this fall.

“We are proud of our researchers who continue their work despite the challenges of the war. The National Research Foundation of Ukraine is making every effort to preserve the scientific and innovative potential of Ukraine in difficult times for science. We are grateful to our international partners for their trust and support of Ukraine’s integration into the European and global research area,” said the representative of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
