The new composition of the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development has been elected

On June 12, 2025, during a meeting of the Identification Committee on Science the new composition of the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development was elected.

Based on the results of the consideration of candidates, the members of the Identification Committee elected 12 people to be appointed to the Scientific Committee (to replace the members appointed in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 04.08.2021 No. 902-р), as well as 10 people to the reserve. The formation of the reserve composition will ensure prompt replacement of the members of the Scientific Committee whose powers may be terminated early between calls.

The main members of the Scientific Committee are as follows:

  1. Stanislav VILCHYNSKII – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Quantum Field Theory and Cosmomicrophysics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
  2. Dmytro HUDKOV – Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Aquatic Radioecology, Institute of Hydrobiology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  3. Oleksii HUMOVSKYI – Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Systematics of Entomophages and Ecological Fundamentals of Biocontrol, I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  4. Olha YERMAKOVA – Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Economic and Ecological Development of Seaside Regions, Institute of Market Problems and Economic-Ecological Research, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  5. Vitaliy LYTVYN – Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Professor at the Department of Political Science, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv
  6. Oleksii MERKULOV – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Deputy Director for Science, Iron and Steel Institute of Z. I. Nekrasov, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  7. Nataliia PASHKOVSKA – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology, Allergology and Endocrinology, Bukovinian State Medical University;
  8. Maksym POHORIELOV – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of Biomedical Research Center, Sumy State University;
  9. Viacheslav PRUS – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University;
  10. Volodymyr TARSHYN – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Head for Academic Affairs, Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University;
  11. Sergei SHARAPOV – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Laboratory of Strongly Correlated Low-Dimensional Systems, M. M. Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
  12. Vladyslav SHYVANIUK – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Laboratory of Physics of Construction Materials, G. V. Kurdyumov Institute for Metal Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

This decision is the result of a step-by-step process that included the following:

approval of the personal composition of the Identification Committee;

  • announcement and holding of a competitive selection of candidates;
  • approval of the general list of candidates;
  • collecting public feedback on the candidates;
  • the final decision-making.

The next step is to prepare a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on approval of the new composition of the Scientific Committee.
