The Scientific Committee is launching a series of online seminars “Science for Society. Scientific Dialogues.”

The Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for the Development of Science and Technology is launching a series of systematic online seminars “Science for Society. Scientific Dialogues”.
The initiative is aimed at creating an open platform for dialogue between representatives of the scientific community, government bodies, business and civil society on the development of science, education and innovation.
The purpose of the series is to:

  • explaining the role of science in society in simple and accessible ways;
  • increasing the level of citizen involvement in scientific and scientific and technical activities;
  • popularization of science in Ukraine;
  • Getting to know scientists and experts who shape science policy and determine the future of science in Ukraine.

Special attention within the series will be paid to Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area (ERA), the development of international scientific cooperation, as well as the implementation of best European practices in the interaction of science and public policy.

As part of the launch of the series, the first online seminar will be held on April 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM on the topic:
“Building a Bridge: Integrating Science into Policymaking in Ukraine”

Speaker: Yulia BEZVERSHENKO, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Science and Innovation Fund for Ukraine.

The event will examine how science can effectively influence public policy-making, as well as practical mechanisms for interaction between researchers and decision-makers.

Special attention will be paid to the Ukrainian context and the need to form a new generation of scientists capable of working at the intersection of science and public administration.
