“Pitch Smart!” workshops empower researchers for upcoming matchmaking in Lviv

On 28 November and 1 December 2025, the LUKE project team brought together over 30 Ukrainian researchers registered for the upcoming matchmaking event in Lviv on 4 December.

The workshops focused on research pitch preparation, highlighting the importance of clear, concise and engaging communication. Participants learned how to structure their pitches to showcase the practical applications of their research, making it accessible and appealing to potential business partners. The sessions covered slide design, key messaging, engagement strategies and the significance of a strong research pitch. The workshops were moderated by Inese Gavarane from the Centre for Social Innovation, Austria. In case of the questions regarding the pitch preparation, please contact gavarane@zsi.at

A well-crafted research pitch bridges the gap between science and business. It helps companies understand how research can address real-world challenges, drive innovation and create market opportunities. For researchers, it unlocks opportunities for collaboration, funding, commercialisation and knowledge valorisation.

The skills acquired during the “Pitch Smart!” workshops will be applied at the science-business matchmaking event in Lviv on 4 December 2025, hosted at Lviv Polytechnic National University. The science-business matchmaking is organised in collaboration with the Tech StartUp School, the SID City Scientific Park of Lviv Polytechnic National University and the Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event will facilitate connections between researchers and companies to explore joint projects, technology transfer and innovation partnerships.
