Dear friends, we are honored to inform you that on July 4, 2024, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine celebrated its sixth anniversary.

The Foundation was established in July 2018, when the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Decree on the work of the NRFU. However, the actual ‘starting point’ is the aspiration of researchers to create an organization that would finance research by a grant principle, on a fair competitive basis.

After the victory of the Revolution of Dignity and the adoption of the Law ‘On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities’ (2015), this dream began to take on the features of reality.

The Foundation’s work is based on the efforts of hundreds of researchers: members of the Scientific Committee of the National Council for Science and Technology Development, the Scientific Council of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, Ukrainian and international reviewers. As well as thousands of Ukrainian researchers who have participated and continue to participate in the calls of the Foundation, conscientiously implement projects, and obtain excellent research results. This work is important for all fields of science and economics, for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and recovery. It is the Ukrainian researchers who support the NRFU, help improve the regulatory framework, and support it in difficult times are the co-founders of the Foundation.

Dear friends, this anniversary is your merit as well.

The first NRFU calls were launched in 2020. In less than five years, ten calls have been launched. We are confident that there are many more calls and initiatives ahead, that the Foundation will become better and stronger every year, and that the results of the projects will be implemented.
