Results of 2021: top 5 achievements of the NRFU

Traditionally, the end of the year is a time to evaluate and summarize the work done. We also would like to mention the most notable and important events of 2021 for the NRFU.

Please find some of them below.

1. We announced 3 calls:
“Science for Safety and Sustainable Development of Ukraine” – 57 winners have already been determined.
“Cutting-edge investigations in mathematical, natural and technical sciences” and “The human, society and science facing modern challenges: innovative research in the social and humanitarian sphere” – the processes of evaluation and determination of winners continue.
Invest in researchers and ideas that are valuable to society!

2. Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the National Center for Research and Development of the Republic of Poland – Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju.
NCBR is a strategically important partner for the Foundation. Signing of the Memorandum is the beginning of the promotion of scientific and technical research, development and cooperation between organizations and institutions of Ukraine and Poland.

3. 30+ meetings were held with representatives of leading foreign European research organizations and agencies.
Promoting the international exchange of information and scientists is one of the Foundation’s missions. Establishing an international partnership is a necessary condition for integration of the Ukrainian research space into the world.

4. “Scientific Super-Nova”
3 events were held. Ukrainian scientists had the opportunity to present their achievements in projects implemented with the grant support of the NRFU and highlight strategically important developments ready for practical implementation, as well as those already in place to scale them. Thus, the Foundation promotes science and those who move Ukrainian science forward!

5. A commission was established to confirm the relevance and availability of research projects by winners of joint calls of scientific projects of State Foundation of Basic Research with the German Research Society (DFG). 6 projects were financed for the total amount of UAH 3,693,488.

In addition, we would like to express our gratitude to our partners and stakeholders for their full support of the Foundation: the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Committee on Education, Science and Innovations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development and also all others: supporters, critics and, of course, researchers. Let’s move forward and continue to work together!

New 2022 year is ahead as well as new projects, goals, trials and achievements… We are happy to join it and continue to fulfill our mission – to develop the research infrastructure in Ukraine and  integrate it into the world!
