The NRFU announces the launch of the Call for Proposals for Research Projects ‘Applied Science for the Resilience and Recovery of Ukraine’

The National Research Foundation of Ukraine announces the launch of the Call for Proposals for Research Projects ‘Applied Science for the Resilience and Recovery of Ukraine’ (hereinafter – Call).

The Call aims to create knowledge-intensive and competitive scientific and technical products with high potential added value and/or social value that can be implemented in manufacturing, the social sector, and other areas.

Thematic areas of the Call: applied research or scientific and technical (experimental) developments aimed at producing scientifically substantiated solutions to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine (priority areas defined in paragraphs 1, 3-7 of Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Priority Branches of Science and Technology Development’);

The project must correspond to one of the following thematic areas:

  • new technologies, materials, and engineering solutions to ensure the sustainability and recovery of industrial and technological systems and the functioning of new sectors of Ukraine’s economy;
  • informational, digital, and mathematical methods for modeling, optimizing, and controlling processes under conditions of limited resources and heightened risks;
  • environmental safety and innovative technologies for the preservation, restoration, and sustainable use of natural resources;
  • biomedical technologies, medical engineering, and rehabilitation systems;
  • new or significantly improved socioeconomic, organizational and managerial, institutional, and service-related solutions, models, systems, methodologies, and digital tools to ensure Ukraine’s sustainability, recovery, and development;
  • countering disinformation and manipulation in the information space and cultural discourse, aimed at strengthening the information, cultural, and communicative security of Ukraine.

Duration of the projects to be selected based on the results of the Call: up to 2 years.

  • Total amount of funding for projects to be selected based on the results of the Call: up to UAH 310.8 mln (up to UAH 160.8 mln in 2027 and up to UAH 150.0 mln in 2028).
    • Date and time of the start of application submission: April 10, 2026.
    • Deadline for submission: May 11, 2026.
  • Terms for conducting scientific and scientific and technical reviewing and announcement of the results of the Call: until December 15, 2026 (tentative).
